Proofread essays with your "fresh" sight. Do not make essay proofreading right after you have finished your writing: you risk overlooking misprints. Let your eyes and mind have a rest, and then go back to your paper.
Make your essay proofreading profound. When paying attention just to how words are written, you are risking to overlooking bad sentence structure, wrong articles and prepositions, tautology and simple stuff and nonsense in the manner of the following sentence:
"Essay writing includes such important stage as proofreading essays, which is very important for successful essay writing".
Ask someone of your family who has good grammar skills to help you with your essay proofreading. Your relative will see an essay for the first time, and he/she may notice mistakes that you have overlooked.
